Family & Scientific Conference Will Be in April, 2020 in Orlando for BBSOAS Patients & Families

The NR2F1 Foundation is hosting the 2022 Family & Scientific Conference in Orlando on April 6-8, 2022. The conference is open to BBSOAS patients and their families worldwide. For those who cannot travel and be there in person, virtual attendance is available but registration must be received by April 7, 2022.

The conference is being held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort. Registrants can book a hotel room with the NR2F1 Foundation group rate. All in-person BBSOAS patient attendees will receive a free conference t-shirt!

The agenda for the conference is available on the NR2F1 Foundation’s website, along with the purpose and learning objectives. April 6 will be registration and a meet & greet reception in the hotel atrium. On April 7, speakers include Dr. Christian Schaaf, Dr. Jane Edmond and Dr. Veeral Shah, among others. There will be breakout sessions in the afternoon and a live musical performance later in the day. April 8th is family day! Planned is a fun-filled morning on the hotel grounds for all BBSOAS families and friends with entertainment, music, and special surprises.

For families that may need some financial help to be able to attend, there is a Fundraising Guide on the website with ideas, strategies, and wording to help raise money for expenses. There are also sponsorship packages for businesses interested in promoting their business for a cause they are interested in or they may know an individual with BBSOAS they want to honor.

The last BBSOAS Family & Scientific conference was held in 2018 and there is a picture of the attendees along with a commemorative video, that can be seen at the bottom of the page HERE.

The conference hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort, is located at 8100 Lake Street, Orlando, Florida. This hotel is built for family fun with tennis courts, outdoor and indoor pools, volleyball and basketball courts, fire pits, a kids zone gaming area, and a putting green. Guests receive a free made-to-order breakfast and free WIFI. There is a spa, a fitness center, and a free shuttle to the Disney parks, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld that runs regularly.
